Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is a large commitment to your mental health. It is a monetary and emotional investment in yourself and your future. While it will likely be helpful in the moment with your specific issue, the potential full benefits of psychotherapy should be far reaching and long lasting beyond your specific problem.
Dr. Menendez is not a direct provider on any health insurance. Her services will be considered an "out of pocket" expense by most insurance companies. However, a portion of the psychotherapy may be covered by your health insurance. Dr. Menendez can potentially be covered on insurance plans with "out of network" benefits for "behavioral health". Please note: All insurance companies are different. Potential patients should call and ask their agent about coverage for "out of network providers" for behavioral health to determine their own specific benefits. Dr. Menendez accepts cash, check, paypal or credit card payments.
Please call Dr. Menendez directly at 786-529-6913 to inquire about her fee.
A note on using health insurance:
Health insurance companies can require that healthcare providers (this includes psychologists, psychiatrists, Physicians etc.) give them access to the records of the patients who submit claims. These records are then shared with an entity called the Medical Information Bureau. The MIB Group, Inc. "serves the information needs of almost 500 health and life insurance companies in North America that seek health, credit and other information about those consumer-patients who request to be insured." In other words, one's diagnosis, if any, must be recorded and potentially shared with other insurance companies nationally. This type of information can be potentially problematic as it can remain in one's record indefinitely whether or not the person continues to have the mental health diagnosis. Moreover, non-direct healthcare providers and non-healthcare providers who work for the company also have access to these records.
