Dr. Menendez is a Licensed psychologist as well as a Psychoanalyst. She is bilingual and is able to conduct treatments in english and in spanish. She has successfully treated a diverse range of patients, including couples and families, the young and the elderly, from variety of different backgrounds. They sought counseling for reasons ranging from mild anxiety and insomnia to addictions and severe trauma. As a psychotherapist, Dr. Menendez believes that while each person that comes into therapy is unique, there are some groups of people that struggle with similar issues due to their specific demographics. In addition to having her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Menendez is a psychoanalyst who has completed all requirements set forth by the American Psychoanalytic Association. These requirements include at a minimum extensive weekly supervision , a personal psychoanalysis and experience seeing atleast three patients four to five times per week over the course of several years. Dr. Menendez was the on site staff psychologist for a residential treatment facility servicing the adult homeless population of Miami-Dade County. Dr. Menendez treated chronically mentally ill residents at the center with psychotherapy and crisis management. Dr. Menendez assisted the residents with their psychological and emotional difficulties. She helped prepare them to reintegrate into society and to thrive living independently.
