Dr. Menendez is a Licensed psychologist  as well as a Psychoanalyst. She is bilingual and is able to conduct  treatments in english and in spanish. She has successfully treated a diverse range of patients, including couples and families, the young and the elderly,  from variety of different backgrounds. They sought counseling for reasons ranging from mild anxiety and insomnia to addictions and severe trauma.  As a psychotherapist, Dr. Menendez believes that while each person that comes into therapy is unique, there are some groups of people that struggle with similar issues due to their specific demographics. She has had many years of experience and specialized training dealing with people who have depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties, loss & grief, chronic illness, trauma, addictions, the elderly, adolescents, trauma and abuse and the LGBT Queer and questioning population.

Psychoanalyst-Florida Center for Psychoanalysis

In addition to having her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Menendez is a psychoanalyst who has completed all requirements set forth by the American Psychoanalytic Association. These requirements include at a minimum extensive weekly supervision , a personal psychoanalysis and experience seeing atleast three patients four to five times per week over the course of several years. KIVA, Citrus Health Network- Hialeah, FL
Dr. Menendez was the on site staff psychologist for a residential treatment facility servicing the adult homeless population of Miami-Dade County. Dr. Menendez treated chronically mentally ill residents at the center with psychotherapy and crisis management. Dr. Menendez assisted the residents with their psychological and emotional difficulties. She helped prepare them to reintegrate into society and to thrive living independently. Dr. Menendez worked closely with individuals who had severe chronic mental illness, alcohol and substance abuse and dependence and extreme trauma.


RITS, Citrus Health Network- Hialeah, FL 
During her  time at RITS,  Dr. Menendez worked with adolescent males from 11 to 17 years of age in a inpatient hospital setting.  The children struggled with issues such as impulsivity, aggression, behavioral dyscontrol, anger, hyperactivity, grief, loss, substance abuse problems and depression.

Private Practice- San Francisco, CA 
Dr. Menendez gained experience treating adults aged 20 to 50 who were dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, addictions, loss, social phobia, risky behaviors and impulsivity and acculturation difficulties. She treated individuals as well as couples.

 Access Institute Psychoanalytic Geropsychology Program-San Francisco, CA
During her time at Bay View Hunter's Point, she  focused on helping elderly Hispanic and black women and men with issues related to end of life, chronic illness, dementia, psychosis, delirium, caretaker burnout, depression, and anxiety.

Women’s Community Clinic, San Francisco, CA 
She worked and received training  with women dealing with emotional problems related to reproductive health difficulties such as women who had recently undergone abortions, recent diagnoses of sexually transmitted diseases, as well as crisis intervention and sexual assault.

Access Institute For Psychological Services, San Francisco, CA 
At Access Institute, Dr. Menendez received intensive experience and training working with individuals and couples dealing with a wide array if difficulties. These included anxiety, depression, bipolar illness, addictions, suicidality, loss of a loved one, infidelity, social phobia and other specific phobias, Obsessive Compulsive disorder, non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors, eating disorders and issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

 Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, San Francisco, CA
 Dr. Menendez was trained in dealing with adults with severe medical problems that impacted their daily lives. For example, she treated people dealing with receiving devastating medical diagnoses such as having end stage  cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, diabetic retinopathy and neuropathy, Huntington's Chorea, traumatic brain injury and recent stroke victims. 

New Leaf Clinical Services, San Francisco, CA 
New Leaf Clinical Services catered  to the Lesbian, Gay, Transgender and Queer community in the Bay Area.  During her time at New Leaf, she worked and gained experience with individuals and couples in the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQQ) population.  Dr. Menendez assisted patients through the process of coming out, alcohol and drug addictions, self-harm behaviors, disordered eating, impulsivity,   prejudice, self- esteem issues and relationship difficulties. She was also formally trained and gained experience with providing psychotherapy to transgender individuals.

Youth and Family Services of Solano County, Fairfield, CA
At YFS, Dr. Menendez helped incarcerated individuals deal with problems related to domestic violence, rape, loss, the foster system, child abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, impulsivity, PTSD, severe trauma and antisocial behaviors.
 
Trinity Counseling and Training Center, New Orleans, LA
During her  time at TCTC, she worked primarily with children ages 5 through 10 dealing with problems such as bed eneuresis, anxiety, intense fear, school phobia, selective mutism, parental divorce and caregiver loss.
