Therapy for people who feel stuck in patterns they understand — but can't seem to change.
You may look functional from the outside while privately feeling anxious, disconnected, or caught in the same painful dynamics again and again. In therapy, we slow things down enough to understand what is happening beneath the surface — so you can begin to respond differently.
Who I Work With
The Quietly Anxious Professional
Capable, accomplished, often the person others rely on - and exhausted by an internal tempo that never quits. Anxiety, perfectionism, and the felt sense of being one step from being found out.
The Repeating Relationship
The same dynamic, different partner. Inherited family roles, ambivalence about closeness, conflicts that follow you across decades. We trace where the pattern began and what it has been protecting.
Identity, Culture, & Belonging
LGBTQ+ affirming and culturally informed work for those navigating sexuality, gender, immigration, bilingual selves, or the long process of becoming who you already are.
My Approach
"My highest goal is to help you understand what you are feeling and why you are doing it, so that change can occur."
— Dr. Manuela Menendez
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable, and highly self-aware — yet still find themselves repeating painful dynamics in relationships, work, identity, or self-worth. Often, they have spent years trying to understand themselves intellectually before realizing they no longer want to carry everything alone.
We pay close attention to the emotional logic beneath your symptoms: the ways you protect yourself, the roles you learned to play, and the conflicts that may be operating outside your awareness.
My work is psychoanalytic, culturally informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in the belief that real change begins when a person can understand themselves more honestly.
What to Expect
i.
Request a Consultation
Reach out by phone, email, or the online scheduler. You do not need to arrive with a perfectly organized story, a diagnosis, or a clear explanation of what is wrong.
ii.
The First Conversation
An initial meeting — not an interrogation. We begin with what brings you in now, what has been difficult, and what you hope might become different.
iii.
Deciding Together
From there, we decide together whether working together feels like a good fit. Fit matters more than credentials. Both of us should feel the work can take root.
iv.
The Ongoing Work
Sessions are held in Coral Gables or online (PsyPact states). Over time, this kind of work can help you feel less trapped by old patterns and more able to choose how you want to live.
You do not need to know exactly what to say. Reaching out is enough to begin.
